Drew Walter Peterson is a retired police sergeant from Bolingbrook, Illinois, and a murderer convicted in 2012 for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, months after they divorced in the year. 2003. Peterson first received a national ad in 2007 when his fourth wife, Stacy Ann Cales Peterson, disappeared. Although the police and Stacy Ann's family suspect bad behavior, she has never been found. The suspicions in Stacy Ann's case were motivated in part by the death of Savio, whose body was found in a dry bath at her home in 2004, with a large cut on the skull. Initially, the official cause of Savio's death was the drowning accident. In 2009, after noticing Stacy Ann's disappearance, Peterson was charged with the murder of Savio after a second autopsy showed evidence of a struggle. He was found guilty of murder in 2012 and sentenced to 38 years in prison on February 21, 2013.
